The day began at 8am to prepare for the mihi whakatau at 9.15am. Fortunately for the roopu, Whaea Barb and Matua Paul brought along their new stamps for our facial moko. They were stunning.
Thank you to Alan and Paul for their whaikorero during the mihi whakatau. It is so amazing to hear our staff speaking in te reo Māori confidently.
Thank you to our parents for their kind contribution for the shared morning tea and lunch. Our visitors were very impressed.
Anyone who has ever been involved with a Kapa Haka group will know it takes more than a couple of tutors to be successful so we would like to thank Bridgitte Jones, Mandy O'Dea, Nicki Patelesio, Whaea Barb and Matua Paul for their assistance in making today a success in the kitchen and with costumes.
Thank you to Sonya and her very talented girls of Otago Girls High School. Our students thoroughly enjoyed their time and learned so much.
Finally, a BIG thank you to Erin Sefo for initiating this visit. Well done everyone.
