Not bad for their first Murihiku Regional.  I am very proud of our kids, fellow tutors and whānau!

CLARIFICATION FOR TOMORROW AND FRIDAY

Some people seem to be in a state of confusion which I apologise for.

THURSDAY, 20 OCTOBER 2016

1:00 - 3:00 REHEARSAL IN THE HALL
3:45pm      PREPARATION FOR ART BAY PEFORMANCE
                  (Art Bay have asked that the performance now be scheduled at 6:00pm so we 
                   wont need to leave school until 5:15pm.  We will meet outside Art Bay Gallery 
                   on Marine Parade-next to Botswana Butchery.  The kids should be finished by 
                   6:15pm and can be collected outside the Art Bay Gallery)
                   Some children will require rides into Queenstown. If you are able to help;
                   please let us know)

CHANGES TO WANANGA TIMES / TRAVEL COSTS TO NGĀ PUTANGITANGI

WANANGA
As you will all know by now the Wananga was scheduled by Tetuhi for Friday, 21/10 from 4:00 - 8:00pm.

Unfortunately he has be called into his PRIMARY JOB at 5:00pm on the Friday evening and as much as he has tried, he has been unable to get out of the commitment to his job.

We are now proposing the Wananga to go from 1:00 - 5:00 this Friday. 

I have spoken to Chris and he is all good with the new proposal.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW IMMEDIATELY IF THERE IS A PROBLEM.

NGĀ PUTANGITANGI FRIDAY, 28 OCTOBER
The cost of the bus down to the competition is $35:00 per student

Could you please either deposit the amount directly into the school account (12-3234-0036499-00)including their SURNAME and KAPA in the particulars OR pay at the school office from tomorrow morning. 

THIS AMOUNT MUST BE PAID PRIOR TO THE DAY OF TRAVEL.

MONDAY, 17 October 2016

1:30   Junior Kapa Haka will be meeting in the P.Arts/Te Reo Māori 
          room for their individual and group photos.
          (We will require parent assistance with the preparation for this)

THURSDAY, 20 October 2016

1:00 - 3:00     Rehearsal in the P.Arts/Māori room and hall
3:45 - 6:15     SNR KAPA HAKA Powhiri for the opening of the new 
                       ART BAY GALLERY, Qtown
                      (We will require the students at school to get ready for the 
                       event at 3:45pmPlease ensure they are not late.  We will then 
          need the students to be transported into Queenstown at 5:15pm.

FRIDAY, 21 October 2016 

4:00 - 8:00     Snr Kapa Haka Wananga
                      - Preparation for Ngā Putangtangi Competition
                      (Attendance is compulsory for this evening.  There are only two
                       weeks to from today and our students need to learn the 
                       Moteatea, choral and final choreography for the
                       Kapa Haka competition on Friday,  28/10. Unfortunately the 
                       choreography is not able to be learned from a video.  
                       The placement of each person can differ with each line of the
                         song. To save parents having to come in and sort a shared kai, 
                       we are suggesting that each student brings in their own dinner 
                       box on the night) 

PLEASE ENSURE AN ADULT IS AVAILABLE TO COLLECT THEIR CHILD 
 AT 8:00pm.

7:15 – 6:30     Ngā Putangitangi Kapa Haka Competition, Invercargill
                      (We will be departing at 7:30am on the dot for Invercargill.   
                        Everyone is welcome to attend but the bus will be for students, 
                        tutors and teachers only.  Each student will be required to 
                        bring a FULL packed lunch with a bottle of WATER only. 
                        The usual expectations for a performance as in 
                        no nail polish or coloured hair, a pounamu to be worn, 
                        hair brushes, black undies for the boys etc)

1:00 - 3:00     JUNIOR/SENIOR KAPA HAKA SHARED LUNCH 
                      (This is the last session for both groups for the year.
                        We will reflect/share and thank Tetuhi, Marley
                        and all the whānau who have made the year
                        so amazing for our tamariki.
                        Whānau are welcome to attend.  Students are to 
                        bring a plate for lunch to share with everyone and
                        place it in the kitchen.)

WE WILL REQUIRE THE ASSISTANCE OF PARENTS TO COME IN 
TO ASSIST WITH THE LUNCH PLEASE.
